The new Honda Accord (model 2008) that you can see – although not that often – on the streets of Lahore is surely a sight to behold. It is remarkably different from Honda’s previous year’s boring Accord. The new Accord 2008 is something quite beautiful indeed.
Some Tech Specs: The 2009 Accord Sedan is a 4-door, 5-passenger family sedan, available in 13 trims (yes, you read that right, THIRTEEN trims!), ranging from the LX 5-Spd MT to the EX-L V-6 5-Spd AT w/ Navigation System. (But don’t worry, dear Pakistanis, we won’t be getting more than two trims (three tops) to choose from.) Now, moving onto the more interesting features of this car…
Aesthetics: Honda folks have pushed the aesthetics up a notch or two with their current Honda Accord (2008). I can not help but look at the car, drool, pray to own one, look some more. Then I compare the side view to BMW, the back view to BMW, the interior to a king’s castle surely and the front view to the back side of a bus! I know, I know, this does not actually qualify as pushing aesthetics up a notch, but do not take my word for it. See the new Honda Accord 2009 for yourself.

To review cars that qualify as luxury sedans, starting with Honda Accord 2009, one needs to be in the Jeremy-Clarkson mod; totally ruthless. Of course, the car in Pakistan costed 36 lacs before the rupee dipped 30 percent to the dollar, so yeah, the Accord will be comfortable, will repond to your requests, will not make you a cup of tea but will help bystanders stretch’n'twist their neck muscles. People who drive it as owners will have what any proud owner will say; it is nice :/. I await a chance to ‘properly review’ the Accord 2009.
By the way, review of Honda Accord 2002 CF3 is due anytime this week (with pictures), so stay tuned (meaning subscribe by email or RSS).

Nope, don’t agree. This new accord is not an accord at all. Even though it retains the trade mark look up front the rest of it seems borrowed from BMW’s trash bin. Its humongous, bulky, ungainly unlike accords of the past that have more or less been svelte in comparison to the competition. Case in point the CL-9, a thing of beauty both to behold and to drive. I don’t know how this new accord drives but i find myself disappointed at the effort by Honda to make it look like a poor man’s bimmer (the butt end is almost a carbon copy of the latest 5 series), in the process letting go of the quintessential accord personality.
Yes, it does look like the ‘poor mans beamer’ but at almost 5million rupees, you need to be pretty near that poverty line to buy one of these. But the aesthetic stylings are, you are right, almost a ripp off.
And I think the Accord personality was gone with the last year’s Accord (the one being manufactured here in Pakistan). That Accord looked like an old woman. (they did try to play around with the lights, tightening them up, almost like a cosmetic surgery
) …
P.S. apart from everything here, WHERE THE HELL HAVE YA BEEN?
Like my sikh buddy in Houston used to say: ithay he nay, pra, waqt nu dhika la rahay nay…
Kudos my friend for setting up this blog, its the paki version of car and driver where i get to put in my two cents worth, so thankyou for that
