Firstly I aould suggest that the traffic rules be made available on the web for information of drivers. This will be convenient for the police and the public too.

Secondly, is it mandatory to carry the registration book with a car ?? and is it an offence liable to be charged?? The problem in carrying the original book is fear of theft or loss. I think if a person is carrying his driving licence and his identity in the shape of his NIC, he should be let off and not charged for a traffic violation. At the most he can be asked to produce his registration book within a specified time period.

I would request some traffic police person to guide me in this regard.
