Car rentals in Pakistan

Are you looking to rent a car in Pakistan?

You may be a person intending to visit the country of Pakistan, you may be looking to rent out something that car take your 11 other friends to the northern areas or you may want to rent a high end car just to get that itch out! :)

Some of the global brands of car rental like Hertz and Avis are already operating in Pakistan. If you are looking to hire a car anywhere in Karachi, Lahore or Islamabad, I suggest you give these international brands a try. But there is, umm, a problem.

These big companies are expensive. A friend’s connection was willing to give me a Toyota Corolla 1.3 XLi on rent for as low as Rs 1200 per day! But that car rental office was somewhere in the basement of some plaza somewhere in the remotest region of Johar Town, Lahore (Hint: it was hard to find!). Deals like these ones are ‘findable’ no doubt, but it is not reliable. Hence not recommendable.

Renting a car in Pakistan is usually done either by visiting expats or by ‘extended’ tourists such as international correspondents.

IMPORTANT TIP: If you are planning to go with your friends and/or family on a one day picnic anywhere, try your best to convince everyone to rent instead of going in more than one cars. Everytime one of my friends do that, one of the cars either ends up getting late or getting lost and then late. Try for a Toyota Hiace van for these kind of trips. (Can cost you anywhere in the region of Rs 2500 to 4500 per day)
Car rentals are priced according to the car you want to rent (Duuh!) and the car rent price list at the Avis websiteshould give you fair idea.
